Friend-The sweetest word in the world

Friend, who is this anyways,a person whom u know can be called as a friend? Or some1 with whom u share your sad and joyous moments or the one who makes u feel in the top of the world even wen u are down and out. For me a friend is a blend of all these. I must say i have been lucky till date to have great friends at every point of my life. There has rarely been a point in my life till today that i felt that i m alone and the world being too lonely for me. When i was a child i used to play with some people, i considered them as my friends, later on i had an elite group of people whom i called as my best friends, even today they are my best friends. But not only them i have realized that my elder sister is "the best" friend of mine. So anyone can be a friend, it depends on u whom u can call as friend. But surely u can have large no. of friends but only a countable number of best friends with whom u can be absolutely free to talk to, you would miss them every moment. And i m lucky to have them too. May be a few but i value them the most in my life.
In school i had 5 friends with whom i would go on chatting for long hours, we would crack jokes, then do those childish mischiefs,lived our worst and best days together, oh those days! When i came to NITR i thought i would miss them a lot, infact i do but surprisingly not as much as i thought i would. The reason is i have found great friends here, who i won't say have replaced them, but surely they don't give me space to miss my old friends. I treasure these friends, may be God has always been quite gracious in giving me the company of elite people, whom i can say as my best friends. It has been just one year that i have met them but they are so friendly and amiable that we have become best of friends in a short period of time. And now i have realized that true friends are not the ones u know the longest but the ones who came and never left your side. One of these best friends of mine even made me realize that friend is the sweetest thing in the world, hence the title. And truly even i agree with it .
Friends are the ones whom u look up to when you are down, you yearn for when you feel like talking to, ones who would always keep u smiling even when u aren't, who would never forget u- be it good or bad times. Then is "sweet" the appropriate word? Some may argue but i can justify it. Sweet is a vast term that includes so many things; it means kind, generous, pleasing, dear or beloved and sometimes even excellent. Furthermore friends always add sweetness to your life and eliminate all the bitterness and sourness that exists in your life. So for me its justifiable to call the friends as the sweetest thing on earth.
Friends, this post is getting longer let me wind it up but before doing that i would dedicate this post to all my friends especially my best friends who will always remain special for me and pals you have made my life sweeter.
